Things to do on the Helford River
There’s so much to see and do on the Helford River; sailing, rowing, canoeing, motor boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming, rock-pooling and crabbing from the quays, just to name a few!
Rent a mooring from us and all of this is just waiting for you and your family to enjoy. Cruise up the coast to Fowey or further to Salcombe and Dartmouth. Go West for an adventure and visit the fish markets at Newlyn or the glorious Isles of Scilly.

Enjoy delicious fresh local seafood and a glass of cooled white wine or a homemade burger and chips at Helford Passage’s The Ferry Boat Inn or hop across the river for more wonderful fresh seafood or perhaps a homemade pizza and a pint at The Shipwright’s Arms in Helford Village.
Glendurgan Garden is owned by the National Trust and boasts a spectacular array of flora throughout the year. Neighbouring Trebah Garden hosts open air events during summer and workshops throughout the year.

Helford River Sailing Club boasts an impressive clubhouse with a bar and restaurant and social calendar for its members. They’re family friendly and dog, with group tuition for children aged 8 to 16. Port Navas Yacht Club is further up the river with its own small intimate restaurant and bar facilities and drying pontoons.
There’s plenty of day sailing and motoring here on the Helford River. Or simply cross the bay to the Fal Estuary, where there are miles of river and creeks to explore with bars and restaurants for you to while away a lunchtime or two.
